Two years after the creation of the first 42 coding training centre in Switzerland, users enjoy and share the benefits of this new space fostering alternative ways of thinking and collaboration.

Gaming: an alternative way of learning

Rethinking how people learn was part of Studio Banana´s challenge during the design of the first “42” coding school in Switzerland –a visionary learning approach that now includes a future-proof space in Renens, Lausanne, successfully meeting the expectations of their real users: the students.

This inspiring educational vision was created by 42, a non profit network present in 50 campuses across 29 countries challenging the current educational system by providing entirely free coding training to students with or without degrees. It´s teaching methods are based upon peer-to-peer learning: classless, teacherless and participatory. As part of this approach, +15,000 students are currently being benefited worldwide.

Unlike the classic schools, the 42 campus is open 24 hours a day, 7 days of the week to allow students with different preferences or time availability to attend their training sessions. Showers and resting areas where students can sleep, multi-purpose rooms equipped with mobile and flexible furniture and a kitchen area with sofas and a video game corner are some of the amenities included to fulfil these specific needs.
